Work

Aledade

2023 – now

Context. Primary care practices taking on value-based care have to coordinate care proactively, but the data that should drive it is fragmented across systems and workflows. The constraint usually isn't ambition or ideas. It's the infrastructure that turns that data into coordinated action.

My role. I joined Aledade when it acquired Curia.ai in January 2023. At first I led engineering for the Point of Care organization, focused on AI-driven EHR integrations. Since March 2025 I've been VP of Engineering, leading teams across applied AI research, AI platform engineering, and AI enablement.

What the teams do.

  • Applied AI research: advancing and evaluating AI capabilities for practical healthcare use.
  • AI platforms: the shared foundations teams use to build and run AI applications: access to models, information, and tools, plus evaluation, observability, and operational controls.
  • Workflow integration: bringing those capabilities into the systems practices already use, including electronic health records.
  • AI enablement: helping Aledade's own people use AI in their daily work and build useful tools of their own.

Key decision. Investing in shared foundations that many teams can build on, rather than one-off AI features.

Outcome. Led the teams that brought an AI-driven EHR integration into production for primary care practices.

Curia.ai

2022 – 2023

Context. Healthcare organizations have a lot of data but struggle to turn it into better outcomes and a lower cost of care.

My role. VP of Engineering. Curia.ai came out of Foundry.ai, and I led its engineering.

What the team did. Engineers, data scientists, and product managers built a full-service machine learning platform for healthcare organizations, including custom models for identifying patient populations, supporting diagnosis, and optimizing treatment plans.

Outcome. Aledade acquired Curia.ai in January 2023, bringing the team and technology with it.

Foundry.ai

2016 – 2022

Context. Foundry.ai was a venture studio that built AI software companies.

My role. Six years as senior, then lead, then principal software engineer.

What I did. Designed and built software systems for AI companies across energy, healthcare, and sales. Worked closely with data scientists to put machine learning into production, and mentored the engineers coming up behind me. Worked on AWS with Python, Node.js, Vue and React, Spark ML, Elasticsearch, and friends.

Outcome. Curia.ai came out of this work, which is where the thread continues.

A small outlet for building and experimenting on my own time, separate from my work at Aledade. I ship small experiments in 14-day sprints.
